Definitions |
The mapping of methylation sites in a DNA (genome) sequence. Typically, the mapping of high-throughput bisulfite reads to the reference genome. Bisulfite mapping follows high-throughput sequencing of DNA which has undergone bisulfite treatment followed by PCR amplification; unmethylated cytosines are specifically converted to thymine, allowing the methylation status of cytosine in the DNA to be detected. |
